Career
Sameera joined Sirasa TV as a Presenter in 2001, and has never looked back since then. Starting from his first show – De-X, Sameera went onto present a number of popular TV shows on Sirasa TV. Among them are popular programs Family choice request show, Business Today, Sirasa Karaoke Championship, Mix Chart and Looks Like. Not stopping here, Sameera has also produced a number of popular TV programs on Sirasa Tv – including the popular () program Kamatha, Kasiya, Business today, Punchi Sihina (Children’s Program) and Pahan Piyasa.
Achievements
At the 2004 State Awards Kamatha produced by Sameera won an award – which was also the first state award won by Sirasa TV.
According to a research by … - Sameera was named the Most Popular TV Presenter in 2005 – 2006.
Interests
Fashion & Design are among Sameera’s key interests. He loves to dress fashionably and chooses his own cloths. Researching about the international music industry and new songs, watching movies and writing are among the things that he loves to do.
Future Plans
With a drive to be successful Sameera has many ambitious plans for the future. He plans to go further from being a presenter. He hopes to produce a film, for which he already has a deep concept in mind, and hopes to get international support in making the film a reality. A short-film on refugees produced by him is soon to be released. Also a song writer – four songs written by him are to be released by December. He also plans to initiate a new music program, and as a hobby Sameera says he might even take up singing!
Mix Chart
The most rated program during the time belt Mix Chart is ranked the country’s number one Music chart show. Through this program as the presenter, Sameera has also been able to introduce a different style and a culture among local TV presenters.
Looks Like
Creating a new trend in the local music industry, Looks like has created a platform for upcoming bands to display their talents. Looks like has given a number of new bands the opportunity to release their music videos, to the country, for the first time. Rated as the number one magazine program in Sri Lanka, Looks Like has given a new approach to local music videos by introducing and promoting high quality and westernized music videos.
